The Story

One of the teachers points out that during The Great War the two sides stopped fighting on Christmas Day to sing Carols and played football. The teachers decide to give it a go. They start with carols - The Holly and the Ivy, but the holly is real. So with that out of the way, it's decided to try football. But the ball hits the teacher in the stomach. So now the head ensures the children hear the Christmas party would be cancelled if they didn't behave.

Suddenly, the playground goes silent, before a rousing chorus of Away in the Manger. The teachers realise the children will do anything for food, and soon after they've called a truce and enjoy their Christmas meal.

Notes
