The Story

It's the start of the New Year and Teacher decides it's time for a Fresh start. He's arranged a change in the classroom furniture. Instead of the row of desks there is now a large round table which the class sit around, but in order so that no two Toffs sit next to each other and no two Scruffs sit next to each other.

Cyril isn't pleased and starts trying to measure up to make sure they get equal desk space. He says Herbert's bag is in his space which sparks fury and items being thrown backward and forwards amongst the class. Teacher realises this isn't working so he splits them up again so the Toffs are on one side of the table and the Scruffs are on the other.

On explaining this, Cyril decides to lift the table up onto its side so that it separates the Toffs and The Scruffs. By this point teach is becoming increasingly angry. He grabs hold of the table to sit it up properly, but it rolls away from his and smashes straight into the wall.

The strips ends with the entire class huddling from the cold breeze behind the table.

Cyril admits that turning the table on it's side was "not a bad wheeze coming from one of that lot!"
