The Story
Games period is over just as the rain starts, but teacher wants all of the equipment tidied away before they go back to class. Herbert says it was the Toffs that got it all out so they should tidy it away. However, Teacher says that if they share the effort it will be done in half the time.
The Scruffs agree and begin picking up the pole vaults with Cyril hanging off one. Then one of the Scruffs begins to calculate who is doing what saying that they are doing three quarters of the work, and the toffs are only doing a third.
The Toffs find a quicker way of collecting the equipment, by pulling up the fake turf from the obstacle course. Cyril works out that now they were doing 70% of the work meaning the Scruffs are behind doing just 35%.
Eventually, the games equipment is cleared away, and Teacher decides it's Maths for the rest of the day as their sums have been terrible. Suddenly, the headmaster comes along and sees teacher holding the sums the kids have been doing, and teacher begins to get a lecture on mixing Games period and Maths. And whilst he's doing that, the head gives the class the rest of the day off!
Notes
Just as Cryil presents his percentages, there is a sign at the bottom of the box telling us the rain has stopped.
