     The Best of the Rest:

Jet was another comic with no real star. It was a short lived comic so no one strip
had the chance to take leadership. However, there were many good strips
Partridge's Patch - PC Tom Partridge had been transferred to the city. His inspector
doesn't see the need for Patch, the dog, but Tom proves otherwise
Sergeant's Four - set during the Second World War with a four man commando taking on
    different missions
Paddy McGinty's Goat - the creature from outer space that takes on goat form
Crazy Car Capers - A kind of Whacky Races for comic
And The Dwarf - self confessed King of Crime

The Award for Most Promising Strip:

Since flicking through the Jet annual, there's a few that deserve praise. Paddy
McGinty's Goat seemed to work well, certainly in the story I read anyway. The Kids of
Stalag 41 were quite amusing, an interesting take on the war. But the top award has
to go to Faceache. Faceache was a true star, and his legend lived on in Buster and
it's various spin-offs for years afterwards.

The Award for the Most Disappointing Strip:

Difficult to be impartial here. I'm not a fan of text stories in comics, and I put
up with adventure stories. Therefore, Jet wouldn't have been my type of comic. I do
wonder why one comic needed two football strips (Sludgemouth Sloggers and Adare's
Anglians) and out of the two Sludemouth Sloggers seems to be the better strip.
Partridges Patch is a bit twee, but that could just be a 21st Century Boy looking
back at a 20th Century Comic. In fairness, Jet did tackle it's strips well, and
nothing came up as being particularly disappointing as with the other comics in this
section. Why Jet didn't last longer is a mystery to me.
