The Story
Tony and Milly are playing with their tin can walkie talkie. Ivor comes along and
shows them how he can summon Milly by using a real walkie talkie. When Tony points
out Ivor and Milly can't see each other with their new Walkie Talkies, Ivor sends
Jeeves to fetch the latest models with video input. Jeeves tells Ivor it has a range
of five miles, but Tony isn't impressed.
In a bid to show off even further, Ivor commences phase three of the operation and
gets Jeeves to organise the building of a new transmitter, that will allow Ivor and
Milly to talk to each other anywhere in the country. Milly now points out that they
are no use aborad, so Ivor shows them the satellite receiver dish, and the satellite
to go with it. Now they can go anyway in the world using their picture walkie
talkies
However, Pater isn't pleased. Everybody can see Ivor and Milly as they have
interrupted TV transmissions and they're receiving complaints from all over the
world. Ivor and Milly hide whilst Pater chases them. Tony closes by saying "Ivor
wanted to be seen all over the world - now he's trying to stay hidden in his own
garden!"
Notes
Artist Sid Burgon hides Ivor and Milly in the bushes of their garden and gets the
readers to try and find them.
Complaints are coming in from Bagshot, Baghdad, The Isles of Scilly and Chile
Penny only utters three sentences in the entire strip, two whilst talking to Tony on
the tin can, and one when she tells Ivor his walkie talkies are no use abroad
Milly is only heard once, talking to Ivor on the Walkie Talkie at the start of the
strip.
